Things to try:
Five Alive is a competition management method for more than 8 athletes. A rolling group of 5 active athletes jump at all times. When someone clears or is eliminated, the next athlete from the wait list rotates in.
This app manages Girls High Jump and Boys High Jump as separate events. Use the tabs at the top to switch between them. Each has its own athletes, heights, rotation, and results.
You have two options:
Whether you imported or created events manually, set up the bar heights for your meet:
Tap π₯ Manage Athletes to view the full athlete list. From there:
Before starting competition, athletes check in with the official. Tap any athlete card to check them in and record their declared starting height.
The check-in modal includes a Present & Active toggle (on by default). Turn it off when an athlete has checked in for the competition but is temporarily not on the infield β for example, still warming up or running another event.
If an athlete arrives who's not on the roster, tap + Add Athlete to add them on the spot.
Tap βΆ Start Competition when check-in is complete. Only checked-in athletes enter the rotation (checked-out athletes wait in the Checked Out list until they return).
Tap β Check Out when an athlete leaves for pole vault or another event. The app skips them until checked back in via the β© In button in the Jump Order panel.
Select an increment chip and tap Raise Bar. When only checked-out athletes remain, a yellow β Height Complete banner appears β you decide when to raise.
When all athletes finish, a red π Competition Complete banner appears and the End button pulses. Tap to finalize.
View the scoresheet at any time via π Scoresheet in the header β a Back button returns you to the active competition.
Five Alive automatically saves all your meet data to the browser β including athlete rosters, jump records, bar heights, and competition state. This protects your data in case of:
Saved meet data persists for 30 days. This gives you time to finish the competition and make any corrections. After 30 days, the data is automatically cleared.
If you're an official running meets every week, you'll need to clear the old meet's data before starting a new one. Otherwise, the app will load your previous meet's data (athletes, heights, jump records, etc.) when you open it.
When you're done with a meet and ready to start fresh for the next one, use the π Clear All Data button at the bottom of this help screen.
This completely resets the app and erases:
After clearing, you'll be ready to import the next meet's PDF from scratch.
